    What we check on every annual service visit

    A gas fireplace has nine distinct failure points. Most homeowners are aware of exactly zero of them.

    Burner & pilot light test

    Blue flame indicates clean combustion. Yellow or orange tips mean incomplete burn and potential CO risk. Pilot strength and ignitability tested.

    Gas valve & connection check

    Every gas fitting inspected for leaks using electronic detection. Shutoff valve operation verified. Flexible connector condition checked.

    Venting system inspection

    Vent pipe checked for obstructions (bird nests, debris, condensate blockage), corrosion, and proper termination cap condition.

    Thermopile & thermocouple test

    Safety sensors measured for voltage output. A weak thermopile causes erratic shutoffs. A failed thermocouple is a CO safety risk.

    Firebox interior vacuum

    Pet hair, household dust, and debris accumulate in the firebox. Packed around the burner ports, this is a fire hazard and carbon monoxide source.

    Glass doors, seals & remote

    Glass inspected for crazing or cracks. Door gaskets checked for compression seal. Remote, wall switch, and blower fan all tested for proper operation.
